MIC, ECCOO, AND 7th STEP COLLECTIVE

We are fortunate to be partnered with The Energy Conservation  of OregonAnd The 7th Step Foundation of Oregon.

Energy Conservation Corporation Of Oregon was founded November 2009 as a non-profit organization working to educate the public on how to conserve energy.

To support our education projects we recycle e-waste. We focus on recycling e-waste as a fund raiser because of the amount of energy that can be saved preventing electronics from ending up in our land fills.

The 7th Step Foundation of Oregon was founded April 1973 as a 501 C-3 non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to enhance public safety by reducing recidivism.

We accomplish our mission, by providing Mentoring, the 7 Steps to Freedom,

NX Change and Transitional Services to Veterans and others in Recovery.

7th Step Foundation Of Oregon’s Veterans Project will be the labor base for the ECCOO’s e-waste recycling program.

The Energy Conservation Corporation of Oregon in cooperation with the 7th Step Foundation of Oregon and MIC Total Recycle are working to stop e-waste from entering our landfills.  For ever ton of e-waste recycled we prevent 4 tons of carbon from entering the atmosphere while saving thousands of kilowatts of power that would have been used processing salvaged materials from recycled items instead of processing virgin materials out of the ground.  The 7th Step Foundation of Oregon Veterans project helps Veterans in Recovery Rebuild their lives by providing the 7 Step to Freedom / NX Change to help address their mental health issues and the Energy Conservation Corporation Of Oregon with MIC Total Recycle teaches them marketable job skills in the Computer field.

ECCOO and MIC training program teaches Veterans how to deconstruct and rebuild Computers how to install Operating Systems, device drivers, system software, and Updates thus extending the life of computers keeping them from becoming landfill. Veterans learn skills that will provide them living wage job opportunities while helping Protect our environment.  This project is a win/win for every one. When the project is fully operational we intend to employ up to 80 individuals, most of whom will be Veterans.

Working with us on our mission are SOLV, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the City of Forrest Grove, Multnomah County Community Corrections, Department, Homeless Veterans Reintegration Project, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
